DEVELOPMENT METHOD OF HIGH-VISCOUS OIL DEPOSIT Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC E21B43/24

Abstract RU 2425968 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves construction of injection well, horizontal production well directed towards injection well along productive formation. At the distance of up to 250 m from horizontal production well new vertical wells are built or existing vertical wells are defined. Heat carrier is pumped to horizontal production well and to vertical wells which are the closest to it in order to create pressure drop zone between horizontal section of production well and vertical fireflood well and to reach oxidation temperature of high-viscous oil. Vertical well which is the closest to bottomhole of horizontal production well is chosen as fireflood well. Burning is initiated in fireflood well and controlled extraction of products is performed from vertical wells and horizontal production well. As the burning front advances towards the head of production well the pumping of oxidiser is transferred subsequently to each next vertical well, and to the previous vertical well there pumped is burning gases and associated water wasted from production wells in the volume creating the high pressure area behind burning front in order to prevent its propagation outside draining area of horizontal well and not leading to its extinction.

EFFECT: improving oil recovery by enlarging the coverage of formation with the agent acting owing to subsequent performance of the whole formation thus maintaining high permeability with possibility of controlling and monitoring the burning front.
