FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing signals by averaging on an ensemble of instances arriving at the input of a computer system is supplemented by a procedure for generating a clock signal which controls a trigger program module. Also, reception of the analysed signal and its subsequent processing takes place only in cases when the amplitude of the signal is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold value. The clock signal is generated by converting instances of the analysed signal. Conversion is carried out through low-pass filtering and strobing.
EFFECT: possibility of picking up nonstationary signals whose amplitude is close to or negligibly greater than the root-mean-square level of stationary random process.
