FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed instrument measures physical parameter of material 1 contained in tank 3 and inputs signal M corresponding to said parameter. Instrument incorporates one wire pair 17 to feed it and to transmit its signal, and radioactive radiator 5 to transmit radioactive radiation through tank 3. Instrument comprises also detector 7 with scintillator 9 and photoelectric multiplier 11 to define radiation intensity and to convert it into electric output signal N. Instrument electronic unit 15 serves to generate instrument signal M and to send it to final use via wire pair 17 with power accumulator 27. Besides, instrument comprises control unit 45 to initiate measurement phases in which instrument measures physical parameter and actuates photoelectric multiplier 11 in pauses between measurements. Note here that high voltage required for photoelectric multiplier 11 is generated during measurement phases by high-voltage cascade circuit 31.

EFFECT: single wire pair for electric supply and signal transmission.
