FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to producing heat exchange tube with shaped heavy-ends using localised plastic deformation of tube material. Preparatory jobs made, tube end is fitted in split mould cavity. Tube is locked against possible displacements and tube end is reduced. Then, outer and inner sections of tube heavy-end by extruding tube material by mandrel. Said mandrel is locked in hydraulic press plunger by special adapter. Mandrel is coupled with adapter by coupling when said mandrel is arranged inside female die cavity. Tube heavy-ends are moulded with misaligned axes of mandrel, adapter and press plunger. Female die free faces have flanges to form guide cavity. Diameter of said cavity equals tube ID. Mandrel has working tooth with maximum diameter that corresponds to sliding fit with respect to guide cavity diameter. In press plunger back idle stroke, solely mandrel working tooth is withdrawn from split female die.
EFFECT: expanded performances and higher efficiency.
