FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in serial connection of a DC output of a controlled rectifier to high-voltage lines wires in accordance with a melting circuit due to connection of according thyristors of a switching device, control pulses are sent to switching device thyristors at least 20 ms earlier than at controlled rectifier thyristors, and control pulses are removed from switching device thyristors at least by 20 ms later than from rectifier thyristors. The device comprises a controlled rectifier, consisting of six identical high-voltage thyristor modules, a switching device connected in parallel to the rectifier outlet, and a primary control system, besides, the switching device is made as a single thyristor stack assembled from six thyristors so that three thyristors have a common anode, and three other ones - a common cathode, and each of six stack thyristors have its own shaper of control pulses, and each of high-voltage thyristor modules of the rectifier has one shaper of control pulses per whole module, and inlets of all shapers of control pulses are connected with an outlet of the primary control system.
EFFECT: improved efficiency.
