FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: burst limitation device is installed on a small-arms weapon, such as a mounted gun of a bullpup configuration, where a firing unit to produce a "fixed burst of fire" moves forward from its rear fixed position inside a guide bed of a weapon. On a lateral side of a firing unit receiver there is a permanent box-shaped intermediate magazine of low capacity, automatically loaded from a lower box-shaped main magazine. The intermediate magazine comprises a spring-loaded lever feeder of cartridges, providing for a "fixed burst of fire" firing mode. The cartridge feeder is equipped with a muzzle hinged joint, breech engaging and disengaging ledges arranged as a whole with the lever cartridge feeder, and making a mechanism of a burst limitation device, providing for stopping in a position not reaching a cartridge chamber as a cartridge is seated from the intermediate magazine of the weapon's bolt support implemented by engagement of the engaging ledge with the weapon's bolt support. The intermediate magazine is installed vertically on the firing unit's receiver. The lateral side has a vertical sector slot for passage of the engaging ledge of the cartridge feeder. The disengaging ledge is placed in a breech part of a side lengthy pocket. The wedge-like ledge is installed inside the pocket of the weapon's guide bed with the possibility of the movable firing unit's receiver passing by.
EFFECT: higher reliability of a weapon in process of a fixed burst.
