SUBSTANCE: apparatus for selecting images of objects includes first and second digital inverters and a fourth digital filtering unit whose output is connected to the data input of a fourth defocusing unit, whose output is connected to the data input of a fourth delay element, whose output is connected to the input of the first digital inverter and the first input of a second AND element; the output of the first defocusing unit is connected to the data input of the first delay element, whose output is connected to the input of the second digital inverter and the first input of the first AND element; the output of the first digital inverter is connected to the second input of the first AND element; the output of the second digital inverter is connected to the second input of the second AND element; the data input of the fourth digital filtering unit is connected to the output of the input unit; the output of the second defocusing unit is connected to the data input of the second delay element, whose output is connected to the first input of an OR element; the output of the third defocusing unit is connected to the data input of the third delay element, whose output is connected to the second input of the OR element; the clock input of the fourth digital filtering unit is connected to the output of the clock unit.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the device owing to possibility of selecting protruding parts of images of objects, whose length on the image of the object is greater than a given value.
