SUBSTANCE: method for amplitude modulation and demodulation of high-frequency signals involves connecting a modulation and demodulation device between a high-frequency signal source and a low-frequency load, said device being made from cascade-connected matching two-port network, two-electrode nonlinear element, high-frequency load and low-pass filter; the matching two-port network is made from reactive impedors, which are made from reactive components; values of parameters of the reactive components are determined based on the condition of the selected resistance values of one-port networks at the given number of frequencies.
EFFECT: generating amplitude-shift keyed or amplitude-modulated signals, demodulation of said signals realising given ratios of moduli of transmission coefficients in two states of the two-electrode nonlinear element, through which the spectrum of the amplitude-modulated signals is decomposed.
