FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cable engineering, in particular - to polymer compositions based on plastified polyvinylchloride (PVC) with reduced flammability, reduced hydrogen chloride release during burning, improved physicochemical properties which compositions are intended for insulation of inner and outer sheaths of wire and cable operated under increased fire hazard conditions. The electrically insulating composition contains PVC plasticate (85-90 wt %) and organoclay (5-15 wt %). The organoclay is represented by montmorillonite modified with carbamide or melamine at the following components ratio: montmorillonite - 80-95, carbamide or melamine - 5-20.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve environmental friendliness of the process and PVC plasticate physical and mechanical properties.
