FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves chemical treatment of the item surface with application of low-melting salts of metal chlorides, heating in molten flux to the temperature which is higher than operating temperature of coating molten metal, short-time submersion into the coating molten metal and high-speed cooling. Heating of items in molten flux is performed in series at two stages - first, in molten flux at operating temperature of up to 200 - 550°C, and then in molten flux of the other composition with working temperature of up to 700 - 900°C.
EFFECT: invention allows combining various operations during application of coatings, including metal working with pressure of heated items, and enlarging the range of machined items, improving the application efficiency of coatings, and reducing the consumption of lithium chloride and prime cost.
