FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pressure is generated on a bar graph inside a pipeline with closed check valves while ensuring pressure difference at points where the valves are installed. After generating pressure on a bar graph, the time and highest pressure in the section of the pipeline are determined. Due to overflow of the working medium through the closed check valve, pressure in the sections levels. The time for levelling the pressure and the pressure value are determined. The check valves between sections are then opened and working medium is pumped, while raising pressure to a predetermined highest pressure. Volume of the additional pumped medium is measured. Volume of leakage of the check valves per unit time is calculated from the measurement results and air-tightness of the check valves is determined.
EFFECT: easy determination of air-tightness of check valves while simultaneously increasing accuracy.
