FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises metal hot rolling, cooling and coiling at preset temperatures at separate process steps. Optimum relationship between strength and plastic properties of rolled wire is ensured by rolling steel containing 0.58-0.89 wt % of carbon, 0.45-0.66 wt % of manganese, 0.1-0.25 wt % of silicon and other elements with carbon equivalent Ce=0.67…0.93. Temperature ahead of roughing stands is selected from relationship: Trough~(958.0…957.93)-3.91δ+0.06σt. Temperature behind water cooling section tcool=(706.48…706.40)+96.9Ce+2.57δ, while coiling temperature tcoil=(236.16…236.15)+2.17δ+46.09Ce, Ce=0.83 [C]+0.36 [Si]+0.18 [Mn]+0.31 [S]+0.32 [P]+0.38 [Al]+0.19 [Cr]+0.17 [Ni]+0.16 [Cu], where [C], [Si], [Mn], [Cr], [Ni], [S], [P], [Al], [Cu] means content of said elements in steel, wt %; σt is temporary resistance to deformation, and δ is elongation.
