FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to disinfection of freight compartments of vehicles and containers after transporting animals, materials and animal products, as well as other veterinary inspection items. The method of disinfecting vehicles and containers after transporting livestock cargo involves treatment a disinfectant containing the following components in wt %: propylene glycol 0.9-7.5; sodium nitrite - 0.27×10-3-16.5×10-3; sodium benzoate - 1.35×10-3-82.5×10-3; products of reacting glycerine with formic acid - 0.18×10-3-11.0×10-3; a solution of oxidants synthesised from 10.0-20.0% sodium chloride solution subjected to direct current with intensity which ensures pH 7-8, active chlorine concentration 0.7-0.9% and redox potential +1000±50 mV - the balance. Treatment is carried out once with consumption of the disinfectant equal to 0.26-0.35 l/m2 with exposure of 55-65 minutes.
EFFECT: invention cuts the duration of the disinfecting process and consumption of the disinfectant while maintaining quality of disinfection, and also reduces the corrosive effect of the disinfectant.
