SUBSTANCE: refrigerating machine is provided with a compressor (1), a condenser (2) and an evaporator (5) connected into the refrigerating circuit. On the way of the refrigerant from the condenser (2) to the evaporator (5) a shut-off valve (3) is integrated. The controller (6) closes the shut-off valve (3) when the compressor (1) is off and opens the shut-off valve (3) when the compressor (1) is on. Refrigerating machine is a household refrigeration apparatus. The controller (6) is configured so as the shut-off valve (3) can be both open and not open when the compressor (1) is off. The compressor (1) works intermittently and when the compressor (1) is off the shut-off valve (3) is closed and when the compressor (1) is on the shut-off valve (3) is open. To defrost the evaporator (5) the shut-off valve (3) is at least temporarily open when the compressor (1) is off.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the refrigerating machine.
