FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agriculture and aqueous polymer mixtures which inhibit the nitrification process in soil, and a method of inhibiting nitrification in soil. The aqueous polymer mixture contains a copolymer in an acidic or partial salt form, having general formula: , where X is a cation selected from a group consisting of H, alkali metals, Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn, Co, Ni and mixtures thereof, p ranges from 10 to 500. The mixture has pH of up 2 and is deposited onto soil directly or in a fertiliser composition. The method of inhibiting nitrification in soil involves a step for depositing said aqueous polymer mixture onto soil.
EFFECT: use of the group of inventions increases efficiency of use of nitrogen fertilisers by plants, which results in higher yield of agricultural crops.
