FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: flow monitoring sensor relates to measuring equipment and can be used particularly for checking presence of streams of different media. The flow monitoring sensor has a housing, a permanent magnet, a magnetically controlled contact and a turning flag. Inside the housing, there is a partition wall made from nonmagnetic material, near which there is a permanent magnet which can turn about an axis perpendicular to the direction of flow. The permanent magnet is magnetised perpendicular the axis of rotation. A flag is connected to the permanent magnet and the magnetically controlled contact lies on the other side of the partition wall near the permanent magnet. In the flow monitoring sensor, said flag can be balanced by an eccentrically mounted magnet and/or by a counterweight which is connected to the magnet.

EFFECT: high sensitivity at different flow rates, reliable operation at high pressure of the monitored medium and possibility of mounting on horizontal, vertical and inclined areas of pipelines through which gas and liquid flow.
