SELF-ADJUSTED TWO-MODE NOZZLE (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC F02K9/86

Abstract RU 2461729 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: proposed nozzle comprises hollow central body arranged ahead of nozzle opening in lengthwise guides. Central body has front hole and rear tube extending beyond nozzle section. In compliance with first version, diaphragm or bellow or spring-loaded piston to interact with two latches is arranged inside central body. First latch retains central body in front position at no-pressure condition in engine and second makes it at pressure existing in said engine. Lengthwise interval exceeding distance between latches exists between closed positions of latches. Said latches may be closed at a time. Second latch opens, one hundred percent, in gas generation corresponding to engine sustainer mode while first latch features play relative to said tie rod and is spring loaded in closing direction. In compliance with second version, first latch is arranged inside central body accommodating also secured or first latch spring-loaded by thermocollapsible or themodeformable element to retain central body in front position, and diaphragm or bellow or spring-loaded piston interacting with second latch tie rod. Second latch retains central body in front position at working pressure in engine. Lengthwise interval exceeding distance between latches exists between latches. Second latch opens, one hundred percent, in gas generation corresponding to engine sustainer mode. In compliance with third version, central body houses diaphragm or bellow or spring-loaded piston retaining central body in front position at working pressure in engine. Central body is retained in guides by thermally deformable attachment.

EFFECT: higher engine impulse.
