FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely neurology, and is applicable for treating vertebrobasilar insufficiency. That is ensured by introducing a catheter into a vein which is exposed to low-intensity helium-neon laser of wave length 0.63 mcm. The first stage involves the intravenous introduction of drug solutions combined with the exposure of the introduced solutions to helium-neon laser of power 1.6 mWt for 60 minutes daily. The therapy involves 10 procedures. The drug solutions are presented by 15% xantinol nicotinate 2 ml, 5% vitamin C 2 ml dissolved in physiologic saline 250 ml. The second stage involves puncture of soft tissues of a posterior surface of neck within nidus localisation under regional anaesthesia with 2% lidocaine 4 ml, and a needle is introduced in a musculofascial layer. Thereafter a quartz optical fibre of the external diameter of 0.6 mm is introduced in the needle. Then this area is exposed to helium-neon laser of power 1.6 mWt for 60 minutes daily. The therapy involves 17-34 procedures.

EFFECT: method provides prolonged remission and recovered work capacity ensured by improving rheological blood properties, reinforced vascular wall of the vertebral zone, fast, effective, stable improvement of cerebral blood circulation in the vertebrobasilar artery at the level of microvasculature, improved venous blood outflow with no side effects of the conducted therapy.
