FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: first supply electrode and two metering electrodes arranged relatively close to each other are used, as well as the second supply electrode at the distance of practical infinity. The first supply electrode is a rod submerged into soil (rock), for instance, a rod penetrator or a drilling tool (pipe string) used to survey mechanical properties of soils. As the rod is submerged, simultaneously with measurement of its submersion depth, the current is measured in the first supply electrode, as well as difference of potentials at metering electrodes. Measurement is carried out simultaneously with measurement of mechanical properties of rocks with the help of a rod penetrator, or a drilling tool in case of drilling, in accordance with the depth of submersion of the rod penetrator or the drilling tool, without usage of a special well instrument. By the ratio of potentials difference at metering electrodes and current in the first supply electrode the specific resistance of rocks crossed with a rod is identified.
EFFECT: higher accuracy for measurement of depth of occurrence of layers of rocks with different specific resistance.
