FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science, particularly to a method for prevention of gestosis and its complications in cows and heifers. The method involves the intramuscular introduction of a selenium-containing preparation wherein selemag is used as the preparation. The preparation selemag is injected in dose 5 ml per 100 kg of body weight, twice: 55-60 and 25-30 days before the expected calving.
EFFECT: use of the declared invention enables reducing percentage of developing complications in the form of retained placenta and pyoinflammatory genital diseases, as well as birth of low-viable animal yield.
