FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: active power is controlled by changing a value of guide vanes (GV) opening and angle of installation of turbine impeller (TI) blades due to formation and supply of control actions at servomotors of GV opening mechanisms and rotation of TI blades. Control actions at servomotors are formed with the help of a controller of active power and a blade-control valve according to logics made using a hydraulic unit (HU) model. The model includes regression equations that describe non-linear dependencies of turbine capacity and pressure drop in a flow-metering site of a turbine from a value of GV opening and an angle of TI blades installation. Alternate conditions and parameters of the HU model are calculated in process of active power control with the help of a recurrent logic of a method of least squares. A control action is formed at a servomotor of the GV opening mechanism, and gate-blade relationship is corrected with the help of the recurrent logic of adaptive control, which is produced by minimisation of generalised work functional, which is created from a normalised sum of misalignment squares between required and realised values of active power, pressure drop in a turbine flow metering site and capacity spent for control.

EFFECT: provision of minimum mean-square error of HU active power control under minimum flow of water and minimum capacity spent for control.
