FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: induction vacuum furnace comprises a vacuum chamber with an inductor, covering a vacuum chamber, a crucible for a charge, installed coaxially to the vacuum chamber, and a system of chamber vacuumising made of diffusion and vacuum booster pumps joined with flexible hoses. It is equipped with a vertically aligned frame, on the upper part of which there is a vacuum chamber installed with an inductor, a platform installed on the frame as capable of vertical reciprocal displacement by means of a drive, a shell with sealing elements, a setting ring, at the same time on the platform coaxially to the vacuum chamber there are the following components tightly installed as joined with each other by means of a vacuum gate - a diffusion pump with an inlet nozzle and a shell, on the upper part of which there is a setting ring and a crucible fixed, besides, the shell is arranged as capable of forming a sealed connection with a vacuum chamber by means of a ring with sealing elements, and the crucible - with the possibility of placement in the middle part of the inductor by means of the setting ring.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of ingot melting process and their quality due to installation of a diffusion pump coaxially with a vacuum chamber body, which provides for quick achievement of the specified vacuum and degassing of a melt.
