FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic device, such as a portable personal computer, and an electronic component installed in the electronic device. The result is achieved owing to that the electronic device includes: a main housing for the electronic device, having an area for accommodating a button on one of its lateral sides; a button on area for accommodating a button and made of material which enables light to pass through the button; a light-emitting area having a ring shape and attached on the side of the area for accommodating a button; a light-screening area having a ring shape and attached on the light-emitting area such that the light-emitting area lies between the light-screening area and the area for accommodating a button; a support element for providing elastic support for the button on the side of the main housing of the electronic device; a light-emitting element for emitting light approximately towards the centre of the lower surface of area of the base of the button, the light-emitting element lying on the side of the main housing of the electronic device; and a switch element which is switched by pressing the area of the base of the button on it.
EFFECT: enabling detection of the light emission state of the button not only from the lateral side, but also from the front side, and providing uniform light emission by the button.
