FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for reducing signature of aircraft power plant in radar or IF wavelength band. In compliance with first version, signature of aircraft jet engine with hinged nozzle is decreased by shielding engine inner components on deflecting nozzle in engine no-reheat operation through preset angle and retaining it thereat. Note here that, simultaneously, aircraft controls are deflected to equalise aircraft in steady-stage flight. Second method comprises shielding internal elements by vibrating the nozzle through angle 6 in engine no-reheat operation. Note here that, simultaneously, aircraft controls are deflected to equalise aircraft in steady-stage flight. Low signature mode may be switched on by pilot or in response to rocket attack warning system signal with aircraft controls in no-reheat position.

EFFECT: barely visible aircraft.
