SUBSTANCE: described is a water-based insulating fluid medium which contains a water base, a water-miscible organic liquid, where the organic liquid contains at least one amine selected from a group consisting of diethylamine, 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol and combination thereof, and a synthetic polymer, where at least part of the synthetic polymer is crosslinked in a reaction comprising at least one crosslinking agent selected from a group consisting of polyalkylimines, polyalkyleneimines, polyethyleneimines and combination thereof. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a water-based insulating fluid medium and methods of improving heat insulation.
EFFECT: improved insulating fluid medium, having low heat conductivity with a wide range of density at high temperatures.
