FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of silicates and glaze compositions for applying on ceramic tiles and glazed tiles. The glaze composition contains the following, wt %: quartz sand 40.0-44.0; dolomite 4.0-6.0; borax 6.0-8.0; alumina 4.0-6.0; potash 8.0-10.0; zirconium dioxide 8.0-10.0; dry galvanic sludge - a product of treatment and neutralisation of waste water from electroplating plants 20.0-26.0. Components are ground, fed in required amounts, mixed and frit is melted from the prepared composition at temperature of 1500-1550°C. The melt is granulated in water. The frit is ground until complete passage through sieve No.0056 and a suspension with moisture content of 45-55% is prepared. The finished glaze suspension is deposited (by spraying, sprinkling, dipping) onto the surface of ceramic articles, dried in air and fired at temperature of 1150-1200°C. Melting the frit and firing the glaze can be carried out in both oxidative and reducing media.
EFFECT: high heat-resistance of the glaze.
