FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: device for arc quenching contains pneumatic cylinder (1) with piston (2) installed in it with rod (3) and nozzle (5) directed to the area of arc formation between sliding (6) and non-sliding (7) contact members. The rod (3) of pneumatic cylinder (1) is connected to arm (12) loaded by spring (13) and connected kinematically to pull rod (9) fixed at the sliding contact member (6) that has groove (10) in each there is a movable axis (11) connected to the arm (12). The arm (12) and spring (13) are connected to rigidly fixed axes (14) and (15), while pneumatic cylinder (1) is connected with the nozzle (5), for example, by a flexible connection (4).

EFFECT: provision of reliable arc quenching due to rather long-term and equal action of air stream on it; improvement of the device reliability due to reduction of structural elements wear.
