FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: according to the invention sensor represents metal plate connected through resistor to base of n-p-n transistor which collector is connected though diode to positive output of the accumulator while its emitter is connected to negative output of the accumulator, at that transistor together with light-emitting diode and plate is mounted into the accumulator cover and plate is placed under main electrodes of the accumulator at distance of 5-10mm. At that resistance of the resistor connected between transistor base and metal plate is defined as average value of maximum value obtained as product of LED rated current by coefficient 104 and minimum value obtained as quotient of LED rated current by current gain coefficient of the transistor multiplied by coefficient 105.

EFFECT: provision of permanent testing of electrolyte level and charge state for accumulators included into accumulator battery while ensuring its reliable operation within the whole service life in wide range of outdoor temperature.
