SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of building materials and compositions of crude mixtures for making brick, which can be used to build low-rise buildings. The crude mixture for making brick contains sawdust, quartz sand, portland cement, lime paste, wool primary treatment wastes and sodium ethyl siliconate or sodium methyl siliconate, with the following ratio of components, pts.wt: sawdust with particle size of not more than 5 mm - 1-1.2; quartz sand - 3.6-3.8; portland cement - 2.4-2.6; lime paste - 3.2-3.4; wool primary treatment wastes - 0.1-0.15; sodium ethyl siliconate or sodium methyl siliconate - 0.01-0.015.
