METHOD OF MAGNETIC CYCLONE PNEUMATIC SEPARATION Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC B03C1/24 B04C7/00

Abstract RU 2490069 C2

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods used at dressing equipment intended for processing of man-made magnetically susceptible stock with grain size representing fine, fine-dispersed and powder-like fractions. Proposed method comprises production of aeromix of initial material containing magnetically susceptible particles, imparting centrifugal acceleration to said mix with helical downward displacement limited by cylindrical body composed of cyclone furnished with vertical discharge coaxial pipe, its one end face part being located inside cyclone case in aeromix separation zone. Top end of said pipe is located on cyclone outer part. Besides, it comprises separation of dusty particles in cyclone separation zone and their removal by upward airflow via discharge pipe, affecting aeromix by magnetic field in separation zone to form two flows: one of said flows represents concentrate of magnetically susceptible particles while another one represents dressing tails. Cyclone separation zone is confined by closed diffuser and confuser elements with their concave side surfaces. Note here that projection of side surface of both said elements features common radius. Aeromix flow in separation zone is subjected to effects of constant magnetic fields arranged discretely along side surfaces of said elements. Under said effects, magnetically susceptible particles are displaced along inner surface of said elements and removed for storing. Aeromix magnetically susceptible particles in confuser element separation zone are displaced in cyclone axial space and shifted by gravity on carrier to be transferred to store. Aeromix in separation zone is subjected to effects of upward airflow to separate dusty particles therefrom and forced in cyclone discharge pipe.

EFFECT: higher quality of concentrate and reduced losses.
