FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed are mixed oxide catalysts in form of hollow bodies for catalytic gas-phase oxidation of olefins and a method of preparing such catalysts by depositing a catalytically active mass in form of a layer on a support made of organic material which is later removed. Also described is a method of producing aldehydes and carboxylic acids in the presence of such catalysts by reacting olefins with air or oxygen in the presence of inert gases at high temperature and at high pressure. The catalyst is (Mo12BiaCb(Co+Ni)cDdEeFfGgHh)Ox (I), in which C denotes iron, D denotes P, E denotes at least one element from a group comprising Li, K, Na, Rb, Cs, F denotes Mn, G denotes Sm, H denotes at least one element from a group comprising Si, Al, and a is a number from 0.5 to 5.0, b is a number from 0.5 to 5.0, c is a number from 2 to 15, d is a number from 0.01 to 5.0, e is a number from 0.001 to 2, f is a number from 0.001 to 5, g is a number from 0 to 1.5, h is a number from 0 to 800, and x is a number defined by valence and content of elements other than oxygen.
EFFECT: catalyst provides high degree of olefin conversion and selectivity of formation of the end product.
