FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a lubricant composition which contains a lubricant medium and a product of dehydrating hydrates of natural minerals or a mixture of natural minerals or synthetic hydrates, wherein the dehydration product, which contains MgO and/or SiO2 and/or Al2O3 and/or CaO and/or Fe2O3 and/or K2O and/or Na2O, is obtained after removing bound water and breaking down the crystal lattice at temperature of 350-900°C. The dehydration product is obtained after removing bound water and breaking down the crystal lattice at temperature not higher than 900°C and which reaches a stable and/or irreversible phase, with thermal ageing in the range of 900-1200°C, which enables to obtain a nanostructure of the dehydration product in the 100-100000 nm range. The invention also relates to a method of preparing said lubricant composition. The technical effect obtained from using the lubricant composition is based on that the initial size of the nano-revitalisant is comparable with the size of surface defects (granularity, microscopic roughness).

EFFECT: plastic deformation of metal in nano-volumes and transition of the surface layer into active nanostructured state, intense grinding of metal grains, high density of boundaries thereof, improved conditions for diffusion of carbon into the surface and into the grains.
