FIELD: packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: packaging subsystem that is used in a packaging machine for packing one or more products by means of a box workpiece, comprises a hopper for box workpieces, a feeding mechanism for extracting workpieces from the hopper and placing them on the first conveyor, a folding mechanism for folding the panels of the workpiece about the first conveyor, and the conveying mechanism which picks the workpiece folded substantially in the shape of an inverted U and locates it around one or more products conveyed by the second conveyor. The packaging machine comprises the above subsystem. The method of continuous packing comprises providing a continuous flow of workpieces on the first conveyor, providing a continuous flow of products on the second conveyor, folding the workpieces around the first conveyor in the shape of an inverted U, sequential selection of at least one of the structures in the shape of an inverted U and placing it around one or more products on the second conveyor, and folding the panels of the workpiece to complete formation of the box around the group of products.
