FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: method of generating integer orthogonal decorrelation matrices of given dimensions for forward and inverse decorrelation transformation of video images involves selecting a generating matrix, subsequent generation of matrices of given dimensions and storage thereof. The generating matrix selected is a 2×2 integer orthogonal Hadamard matrix, and when generating matrices of given dimensions, matrices whose dimensions are one unit larger than the previous are successively generated until the required matrix is obtained. Characters of all elements of the first row of the current matrix are replaced with opposite characters, wherein a new integer element is entered to the left of the top row of the obtained matrix, the value of said new integer element being equal to the number of elements to its right in the same row. A new row whose size is a unit greater than the size of the row of the initial matrix and all of whose elements have the same values is entered above the top row of the obtained matrix. Missing elements of the generated matrix are represented by zeros.
EFFECT: enabling forward and inverse decorrelation of digital video images during compression, reconstruction and transmission over communication channels with minimal computational complexity.
