FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship control at motion in preset path, particularly, to automatic rudder control. Control is effected by transverse shift of fore point A and aft point B. Said points A and B are spaced over ship length in its centreline plane. Control signal is generated to define rudder deflection speed. Note here that rudder angle must not be larger than its maximum magnitude characteristic of particular rudder.
EFFECT: higher precision, perfected control, ruled out loss of control.
