FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method for scale removal from inner surface of sleeves from titanium-based alloys, and can be used at production of tube stock from titanium-based alloys at TPU 8-16" with pilger mills. The method involves heating of ingots to plasticity temperature, stitching in a helical rolling mill on a short mandrel into sleeves and removal of scale from inner surface of the sleeve; with that, inert argon gas at the pressure of 5-10 kgf/cm2 is used as a reagent.
EFFECT: reduction of burial depth of blowholes and a network of cracks on the inner surface of sleeves; reduction of thickness of a wall of tube stock; lower consumption of titanium-based alloys at simultaneous improvement of quality of the inner surface of tube stock.
