SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a developer supply container for feeding developer into a developer receiving device. Examples of a developer receiving device include an image forming apparatus such as a copy machine, a fax machine or a printer, an image forming unit detachably mounted in such an image forming apparatus. The disclosed group of inventions includes developer supply containers detachably mounted in a developer receiving device, which include a drive member, said developer supply container having: a container housing, having an inner space configured to hold the developer, and an opening configured to allow the discharge of toner into said container housing; a feeder located in said container housing and configured to feed the developer towards said opening through its rotation relative to said container housing; a drive transmission device engaged with the drive member and configured and positioned to transmit the rotary force from the drive member to said feeder; an adjustment part configured and positioned to adjust the installation angular position of said container housing such that said drive transmission device engages with the drive member when said developer supply container is mounted in said developer receiving device; a load application device configured and positioned to apply a load to said drive transmission device to rotate said container housing from the installation angular position to a developer feeding angular position in which the developer is fed into the developer receiving apparatus through said opening through the rotary force received by said drive transmission device; and an unloading device configured and positioned substantially to release the load applied to said drive transmission device using said load application device when said container housing is in the developer feeding angular position; a screw part provided in said connecting part and tightened with said container housing to enable said container housing to rotate together with said connecting part of the container housing in the loose direction and become loose by rotating said container housing, while rotation of said feeder is prevented by said connecting part in the same direction as the loose direction, and also become loose by rotating said container housing; a locking device configured and positioned to lock with said drive transmission device to rotate said container housing from the installation angular position to the developer feeding angular position in which the developer is fed into the developer receiving device through said opening through the rotary force received by said drive transmission device; and an unlocking device configured and positioned to unlock said drive transmission device when said container housing is in the developer feeding angular position.

EFFECT: developer supply container having improved operational capabilities and simple design.
