FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: acoustic signal is emitted in a direction towards the bottom. Signals of backscattered acoustic emission are received from each bubble crossing the surveyed area during the period of monitoring in the horizon under survey. The received signals are processed and the distance is determined from the acoustic transducer up to the horizon under survey, as well as a number of bubbles crossing this horizon during the period of monitoring and the floating height of the bubbles over the horizon under survey. The calibration curve is plotted depending on the floating height of the bubbles and the bubble sizes. Gas stream values are calculated against the parameters obtained with the use of the calibration curve.
