FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: sorbent contains calcium sulphate on a carrier from fibrillated cellulose fibres, which contains not less than 95 wt % of the fibres not longer than 1.20 mm and not less than 55 wt % of the fibres not longer than 0.60 mm. A method includes preparation of an initial water dispersion, which contains the said fibres and dissolved calcium chloride. The dispersion is processed with sodium sulphate. Processing results in formation of calcium sulphate particles and their immobilisation on the fibres. The quantity of immobilised calcium sulphate particles constitutes 100-1200 wt. p. counted per 100 wt.p. of the fibres.
EFFECT: obtaining a sorbent, efficient for removal of fluorine and/or phosphates from water media.
