SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transmission of channel quality information in a wireless network. The method of obtaining a channel quality index (CQI) in a communication system comprises steps of receiving, in user equipment (UE), at least one of a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) and channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS), obtaining a CQI based on at least one of CRS and CSI-RS in a CSI reference resource; and transmitting the CQI to an evolved Node B (eNB), wherein the CSI reference resource is defined by a group of physical downlink resource blocks corresponding to the band associated with the obtained CQI value, and a downlink subframe.

EFFECT: taking into account the type of subframe when determining and interpreting parameters transmitted via a feedback channel.
