FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: for visual signalling of the beginning and the course (indication) of a critical period during which a clock might stop, i.e. visual indication of the critical power reserve, for visual determination of the need for timely clock winding to prevent unexpected and/or undesirable stoppage thereof, an apparatus for displaying the power reserve of the clock mechanism, having kinematically interfaced winding mechanism, spring motor, wheel system, release, regulator, arrow mechanism, comparison means and power reserve indication means, is configured to show rotating or fast-moving components of the clock mechanism in an indicator opening which opens during critical periods when the clock mechanism needs winding to prevent stoppage thereof. The apparatus is configured to show during critical periods of time the wheel system, the release, the regulator or the tourbillon of the clock mechanism or movable components connected thereto. A clock, having a housing, a clock face, a winding mechanism, a spring motor, a regulator, a release, a main wheel system, an arrow mechanism, a comparison means and a power reserve indication means, also includes a critical power reserve indication apparatus which is configured to show rotating or fast-moving components of the clock mechanism in an indicator opening which opens during critical periods when the clock mechanism needs winding to prevent stoppage thereof.
EFFECT: enabling use when the stoppage of a clock mechanism due to unexpected or undesirable exhaustion of the power reserve of a spring motor of a clock mechanism is unacceptable or undesirable.
