FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication. An access point sends the first message to a network node that controls paging for an access terminal; besides, the first message includes an instruction stating that paging of the access terminal shall be performed only at the access point, receives the second message from the network node in response to the first message; with that, the second message requests the access point to perform paging of the access terminal, determines type of a packet, randomly filters the above packet based on a certain type and determines whether paging of the access terminal based on the second message and random filtration shall be made or not.

EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of effective local access by reduction of the number of paging or packets, which are sent to an access terminal by filtration of a local connection traffic.
