SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, especially to animal husbandry, and can be used in preparation of food for poultry. The method of preparing the feed additive for poultry comprises processing of wheat bran with electromagnetic microwave radiation. The wheat bran is preliminary mixed with the iron microparticles, where they are accounted for 0.7 mg per 1 kg of wheat bran on a dry matter basis. Then the mixture is moistened to a moisture content of 45% and subjected batchwise to microwave radiation for 1.5 minutes at a specific capacity of 3.2 W/g.

EFFECT: implementation of the invention provides improvement of mineral exchange in the poultry organism with simultaneous increase in feed digestibility and bioavailability of the feed due to exposure of microwave radiation to the mixture.
