SUBSTANCE: invention relates to textile industry and may be used in knitting looms for driving of the weft thread into the warp shed. In the mechanism of driving of the shuttle of the knitting loom the picking stick is mounted in horizontal guides parallel to the trajectory of motion of the shuttle. The drive of the motion of the picking stick comprises the driving and the driven pulleys interconnected by the belt drive. The upper branch of the belt drive is located in a plane parallel to the working surface of the race board, and is rigidly connected to the picking stick. When driving the shuttle the belt drive transmits motion to the picking stick which moves the shuttle along the race board. When movement of the shuttle from the shuttle box located on the other end of the slay beam, and its enter into the shuttle box the belt drive moves the picking stick in the opposite direction to its original position.

EFFECT: increased reliability of the throw and reduced dimensions of the mechanism.
