FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises deformation of hollow billet by rolls at mill stand mandrel. Decrease in the length of sections with transient mode of stretching by creation of required braking ultimate force at first mill stand is ensured by straining of hollow blank at fist mill stand at short cylindrical mandrel. Reduction of wall at first mill stand at stationary mode at mandrel cylindrical section is specified by mathematical relationship.
EFFECT: decreased end wastes at pipe rolling.
