A method of updating an algorithm code comprises: receiving a randomly extracted initial number, the size of which, based on the number of bits, is at least four times less than the number of bits needed to encode N numerical constants of the cryptographic algorithm; determined expansion of the initial number to obtain a number sequence, the size of which, in the number of bits, is at least equal to the number of bits needed to encode N numerical constants of the cryptographic algorithm; generating N new numerical constants from the obtained number sequence and replacing N constants of the cryptographic algorithm code with new N constants generated to obtain an updated cryptographic algorithm code.
