The washing machine contains a body that determines the washing machine appearance and a tank positioned inside the body and accommodating washing water; the tank has a cross section where the first length (passing though the tank central longitudinal axis and from the first side to the second side along the first essentially horizontal direction) is shorter than the second length (passing from though the tank central longitudinal axis and from the third side to the fourth side along the second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction); the tank vertical radius passing upwards from the central axis in the second direction and the vertical radius passing downwards from the central axis in the second direction have a length exceeding half of the first length.

EFFECT: increasing the drum volume when the space where the washing machine is installed is restricted.
