FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: method to measure disperse composition of aerosol particles and their concentration in air medium is carried out using a curvilinear channel. As air moves with particles via a curvilinear section of the channel, a centrifugal force impacts the moving particles. The speed of centrifugal movement of particles to the wall of the channel is proportionate to their size and mass, therefore in the beginning of the channel largest particles are deposited, and further in the channel the deposited particles become smaller and smaller. Therefore, by recording the number of deposited particles along the channel, depending on the shape of the channel and speed of air pumping, one may determine a disperse composition of an aerosol.
EFFECT: provision of the possibility to measure dispersion of an aerosol in real-time mode, increased sensitivity, selectivity and accuracy, reduction of labour intensiveness of measurements.
