SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a silicone vaginal pessary involves a compaction method, two-stage vulcanisation at high temperatures and application of an antimicrobial coating containing chlorhexidine and/or its salt on the surface. The antimicrobial coating is applied by vulcanisation of the silicone rubber composition containing chlorhexidine and/or its salt; once reaching a viscosity of 15-25 poise, it is applied on the surface that is followed by final vulcanisation at room temperature.

EFFECT: implementing the invention enables preparing the antimicrobial coating on the silicone vaginal pessaries with high antimicrobial activity and high adhesion to the material, as well as manufacturing the silicone vaginal pessaries possessing the long-term antimicrobial activity by gradual and prolonged release of an antiseptic from the surface when in use.
