FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: cutting body of barking machine comprises an endless crawler belt which moves between the driving and driven wheels (6). The links (1) of the belt are interconnected by hinges (2) and have the cutting elements (4) on the outer surface. The crawler belt is made with hinges of unilateral bendability having stops or connections (3) limiting rotation of adjacent links by the angle greater than 180 degrees. On the links in front of the cutting elements there are the stops (5) of variable height, determining the magnitude of protrusion of the cutting edges of the cutting elements relative to the processed surface. The cutting body has the ability of displacement in a transverse direction relative the log. On each of the links across its width the cutting elements are mounted with different angles of cutting, including the possibility of scraping. The ploughshare (9) is designed to remove the cut bark from inner space of the track. The protectors (11) prevent getting the cut bark under the wheels.

EFFECT: simplified design and improved efficiency of the mechanism by reducing the friction forces.
